Here’s our top list of the most relaxing beaches in Mykonos.
Agios Sostis Beach
This beautiful beach, located on the northern part of the island, may get is share of summer winds the Cycladic island chain is known for.
However, the calm days make Agios Sostis the perfect getaway on the island to be in tune with Greek island beach nature. In fact, the sandy stretch of beach doesn’t attract too many crowds at all since there aren’t any lounge chair and umbrella rentals nor any established beach bars.
Agios Stefanos Beach
This beach is named after the little chapel of Saint Stephen or Agios Stefanos which was built at one end of the bay. It has a shallow coastline perfect for sitting in the lapping sea as it hits the sand. Take in views across to Mykonos town and the tiny neighboring islands of Delos and Rinia. The beach is also popular in the early evenings because of its excellent location on the western part of the island where you can witness some beautiful sunset views.
Agrari and Elia Beach
You approach these beaches from on high road which winds down into a long, thin, steep road. You’ll then find Agrari, which is known for its sparkling turquoise sea and its pebbly sand beach.
Many agree it’s a swimmer’s paradise. It’s a quiet beach because very few hotels and restaurants are built within close proximity like other Mykonos beaches. You can also walk over into neighboring Elia Beach, also known for its calm and peaceful atmosphere. Together, Agrari and Elia kind of form one huge sandy beach!
Kalo Livadi Beach
Kalo Livadi is one of the biggest beaches on the island. There is an array of great restaurants to dine at with a great view of the beach. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas or order a cocktail or drink from a nearby cantina as you relax in the sun. Others prefer to lay out on their towel away from everyone. No matter where you park yourself, many agree it is a calm beach where a sophisticated vibe exists. Its name translates to good valley. Kalo Livadi is actually named for its location at the end of a long valley that is scattered with small white farmhouses. The beach is located just south of Ano Mera, the second largest town in Mykonos.
