Deep tissue massage is similar to the Swedish massage. However, it uses deeper pressure which releases chronic muscle tension. It can leave you feeling sore after the treatment. Remember that it is always important to speak to your therapist and let them know if the pressure needs to be adjusted as some trigger points may be more sensitive to pressure than others.

Shiatsu Massage 

Shiatsu is a popular massage which is an effective treatment for any medical condition. It is based on an ancient Japanese technique that applies the use of finger pressure which is used to work on different pressure points. The difference with other massages is that during this treatment you remain clothed. Shiatsu is recommended for treating headaches, back pain and lack of sleep.

Swedish Massage 

Swedish massage, also known as the classic massage, is one of the most common and widely used massages.  It is an introductory massage that releases stress and is great for tense muscles. It uses several styles of strokes. Effleurage strokes are long, sweeping strokes which are used in the beginning and at the end of the massage. Petrissage strokes involve movements with applied pressure which are deep and compress the underlying muscle.

Thai Massage 

The Thai Massage is based on a combination of Indian and Chinese traditions of medicine and is a deep, full-body massage that focuses on the energy lines of the body. The therapist applies all his or her body when completing this treatment meaning the therapist stretches you while applying pressure on your muscles and loosening the joints. This type of massage is both energizing and relaxing at times, as it draws on yoga, acupressure and reflexology.
